Sometimes good things happen

My long-time friend and brilliant poet Colleen Harris http://peripateticpoetess.blogspot.com/ has sent me two new manuscripts which I will create images for. This is a huge honor for me. To have my art associated with such amazing poetry is just...well, amazing!

The poetry section is shrinking.

poets are getting

awfully close

bunched up

to the point

of indecency.

fresh young faces

now adorn the worn

wood once warmed

by legends.

the new so-and-so's

of who's who

teenage whores

pimps and

underage

immortals

beautiful

vibrant

hollow.

we're all

doomed

if this is

our future

if the only thing

that sells is

tight young skin

mascara

straight teeth

shiny boots

promises

promises

promises

fantasy

replacing

bitter

beautiful

truth.

now that I think

about it

nothing has

actually

changed.
