I am the worst blogger ever

I think it was a year ago when I last wrote on this blog.
I am terrible at this sort of thing. I will endeavour to do better.

I would give you a recap of last year's goings-on, but
I don't recall most of it.

One of the highlights was making the cover image for
THESE TERRIBLE SACRAMENTS,
by the Illustrious Colleen Harris.

Seen here.

Sometimes good things happen

My long-time friend and brilliant poet Colleen Harris http://peripateticpoetess.blogspot.com/ has sent me two new manuscripts which I will create images for. This is a huge honor for me. To have my art associated with such amazing poetry is just...well, amazing!

Here is the cover image that I did (with the help of my beautiful Christina) for Colleen's first book, God In My Throat, published by Bellowing Ark. http://www.bellowingark.org/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=36&idcategory=

This is going to be a very good thing, I assure you.
Please check out the links and follow Colleen at her various web dwellings.

Conglomerate

Conglomerate

The poetry section is shrinking.

poets are getting
awfully close
bunched up
to the point
of indecency.

fresh young faces
now adorn the worn
wood once warmed
by legends.

the new so-and-so's
of who's who
teenage whores
pimps and
underage
immortals

beautiful
vibrant
hollow.
we're all
doomed
if this is
our future
if the only thing
that sells is
tight young skin
mascara
straight teeth
shiny boots
promises
promises
promises

fantasy
replacing
bitter
beautiful
truth.

now that I think
about it
nothing has
actually
changed.

I digress...A new beginnig

I've never been good at blogging. Matter of fact, I think I have at least three of them floating around collecting inter-webs. That was a terrible joke, and I apologize.

This blog will be my "official" Poetry and other assorted rambling space, I suppose. It might be slow-going, but I'll get it up to speed. I always hear "you need to have a place for people to go and see your stuff if you want to get out there."

I'm already "out there" though I know that isn't what they mean.

I digress...

As you may have read from my bio, I am a poet by desire. My 9-5 job is a tad less glamorous, however. I'd rather not get into the details, suffice to say it involves urinal cakes...

Again, I digress...(how many times can one digress in a single post before the salmon-wielding widgets come and the flogging begins?)

So I suppose I could say I am a working-class-poet. As much as I cannot wait to be a "classy working poet," I'll make due.

OK, enough about my Karmic punishment for now. Let me tell you about some of the people I roll with.

Folk Singer-Songwriter Joe Iadanza. http://joeiadanza.com/

The Librarian-Poet-Warrior Colleen Harris. http://godinmythroat.com/

The Comics-Blog Playboys of The Write Club. http://writeclubpodcast.blogspot.com/
Artist (and lover of the handlebar moustache) Mallory Hodgkin. http://studentpages.scad.edu/~mhodgk20/Illustration%20Archive.html

Check them out if you get the chance.

Cheers
